Motorcycle Repair: honda 1980 cm400t, dual carbs, cm400t

ok i have a question the bike turns over but wont start and seems to be backfireing very loud it has dual carbs also sounds like it is backfiring through the carbs let me know what you think it might be and ill start there thank you also the backfire out the tailpipe sounded like a shotguy so please advise thank you

A:  How about providing me with some history of this motorcycle? Tell me about repairs, modifications, if it was stored for any period of time, and what has been done in attempt to start it. This information is helpful for accurate diagnosis.

Or, the simple answer is it has carburetor and/or igniton problems.
