Nissan Repair: My frontier wont start, spark plug wire, desert runner

Question
I replaced the thermostat on my frontier 4x2 desert runner with the V6, and now it wont start. My plug wires are fine and it didnt overheat before I replaced it, it was only sticking periodically. It started normally before I replaced the thermostat when I was done all it would do is turn over like there is no fire going to the plugs.

Answer
Hi Calvin

There must have been something that was disconnected. Remove a spark plug wire and insert a screwdriver in it till it wedges against the metal terminal inside. Hold the shaft of the screwdriver about 1/4" away from any metal surface of the engine and have a helper crank the engine as if to start it. There should be a spark jumping between the metal surfaces. If not, then we have to check for a disconnected wire, perhaps near the distributor.

If there is a spark, then try priming the intake with some fuel and see if that starts it.

Hope this helps -
