Nissan Repair: Remote Keyless Entry Problem., remote keyless entry, 2004 nissan quest

Question
QUESTION: Hi, I have a 2004 Nissan Quest SE. The problem I'm having is that I need to be very close to the van to unlock/open doors by the remote. I can not do it from a distance, few days ago it was not a problem but since I took it to a wash (those do it yourself car wash w/ pressure wash) I noticed this problem. I have already changed the battery on both the remotes but still the same issue. Have to be very close to the front door to use the remote. Any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

ANSWER: Nabeel,

If you got the antenna wet then it should dry out over time.  But, if you want to diagnose the problem you will have to look under the hood where the antenna hoods up to the body control module.  I would not screw with it and just wait for it to dry out.

should I be careful of?
thanks again.

Answer
Nabell,

The wro most common causes for a remote not to work, except for the battery, are the remote was dropped or exposed to a really strong electromagnetic field and the Body Control Module in the car has become defective.  You only need to worry about the remote not getting wet or dropped or exposed to electromagnetic fields.
