-----Question-----
THIS IS A 2006 FRONTIER KING CAB V6.  THIS TRUCK HAS HAD TWO RECALLS AND IT'S LEASED. I WAS TOLD THERE IS WATER IN THE ALTERNATOR.  WHAT ARE THE POSSIBILITIES OF THIS HAPPENING?  I AM REALLY CONFUSED AND THE DEALER IS TELLING ME THAT THIS ISN'T COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE TRUCK IS MAYBE 7 MONTHS OLD AND DOESN'T HAVE 9000 MILES ON IT YET.  BUT I DID LEAVE IT PARKED FOR 2 WEEKS. PLEASE EMAIL ME AND LET ME KNOW YOUR OPINION ON THIS SITUATION.. I AM READY TO REPORT THIS TO THE   BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU..HELP!!!!

-----Answer-----
Hi Dawne,

My opinion is that you take it to another dealer. You found a real @##h*&$ for a service writer. The dealer will get paid for the repair regardless and alternators are suppose to be watertight as far as the inner workings.

Ok, so what did you really do? Give me the details! hehehehe

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING, BUT WHEN WE WENT IN TO LOOK AT THE TRUCK THE WHOLE ENGINE IS RUSTED..I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS GOING ON..I DID DRIVE IT IN THE SAND THOUGH, BUT 4X4 SHOULD BE ABLE TO GO ON THE SAND RIGHT! I THINK THEY ARE JUST TRYING TO RIP ME OFF...HAHAHAHA!!!

Answer
I would start digging around for the arbitration number in the back of your owners manual! If I had just bought a brand new shiney truck and the engine was rusted? Well, they would be giving me another truck! Don't let them get away with this sort of thing. I wonder if it was on one of those barges that went down and Jacques Custeau brought it up from the deep... Or Davey Jones... Water in the alternator, rusted block, my Lord... GO GET THOSE GUYS!
