Nissan Repair: Car stalling, nissan 240sx, haynes manual

The car  ( 1996 nissan  240sx)
Starts fine but when I get on the road the car will seem like its not getting enough gas. when I step on the gas it acts like it is going to stall. I have replaced the  fuel filter and  put  new gas in  

This started the other day when I  stepped on the gas hard to get in front of truck

Get a Haynes manual for the correct values and check the coils for impedance and resistance to make sure that they are not going out.  Also, check the converter to see if it has not melted internally.  Basically, this model is famous for getting too much gas and then the converter overheats and then it starts to melt.  After it melts a bit the engine cannot get enough air through the exhaust and the car seems to fall on its face while accelerating.
