Nissan Repair: 200SX drivers door lock, key lock, fire department

Question
I locked myself out of my 1996 200SX a few years ago.  The fire department came to open the door, but they somehow messed up the driver's side door lock.  The power lock still works and the door will lock and unlock from the inside, but I am unable to unlock the driver's door from the outside with the key.  What do you think the problem is and how can I fix it?

Answer
Kara,

On the inside of the door there is a rod that comes down from the key lock to the actual mechanism.  There is a metal rod that connects the lock to the mechanism.  This rod has come off or the plastic clip that holds it is broken.  This is quite common for cars that have been slim jimmed to get them open.
