Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): TORO CCR 1000, toro dying

Question
I just bought a used toro ccr100 with new paddles.  I used a 3.2 oz 2cycle oil to 1 gallon of fuel (the manual said this is a 40:1 ratio). It starts in 1 pull after 2-3 push of primer bulb.  However, the engine sputters and runs for about 10-15 minutes and then dies out.  I have to wait for about 30-60 minutes before restarting it again.  The manual said this carburetor is factory set and should be touched.  Can I do any adjustment on  anything before taking it to a shop for a tune-up?

Thanks

Answer
Try running it with the gas cap loose.  The tank may not be venting and the pressure inside is dropping too low for the fuel to flow out.

If you took the gas cap off when this happened, did you notice a "whoosh" of air?  Let me know if this fixes things or not.  Thanks, PK.
