Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Leaking carburator through air intake, wheel horse, rubber tip

Question
John
After rebuilding the carburetor on my 1960 wheel horse (walbro)for the second time, it still leaks through the air intake when tractor sits for a few hours.I used both types of needles, with rubber tip and without along with the correct seats and gaskets. This is the problem which originally led me to rebuild carburetor and it still leaks. Float is OK without any leaks and properly adjusted.I am at loss on what to do now. Please advise.

Answer
 Hello Casimiro:

This is a Problem that is Starting to Occur More Often. Install a Cutoff Valve in the Gas Line to the Carburetor and Manually Turn Off the Gas Flow After Each Use. The OEMs' have Started Putting a Shutoff Solenoid in the Bottom Of the Carburetor to Prevent this. The Problem is caused by Lack of Professionalism in the Manufacture of Parts in Todays World. You can Check the Gas Cap and Make Sure it is Venting Properly. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully
