Steering Column Repair: Ignition Housing, gmc blazer, tilt column

Question
I own a 2000 GMC Blazer LS . Today I did realized that the key when i inserted at the ignition was kind of stuck in the On Position and actually i did have to move it back. Took it to a mechanic and he told me that the ignition switch was good and the problem was the ignition housing or case was bad. My question is do you have an exploded view and instructions so i can change the housing. Thanks

Hello Eddie:

The fact that the key was removed in a position other than the lock position indicates to me that the lock cylinder is worn out inside allowing the key to come out...It shouldn't.  The case will not cause or allow this, the lock will.  Also, the shifter interlock mechanism should have prevented this from happening, so you may be coming up on more than one problem.
We do not have exploded views of that particular vehicle on our website (www.steeringcolumnservices.com), but I can attach one here.  You do not say if it is tilt or non-tilt, or standard or automatic, so I will post a tilt column shift automatic column.  If you have Passlock, you will need to re-program it after you replace the housing, so just be aware of these little differences.

Good luck
Doug
