Steering Column Repair: VATS Key, resistor value, buick regal

Question
Douglas, I was given a replacement ignition key from a dealer that was supposed to be a resistor #10 instead they gave me a resistor #8. Of course it would not start the car. They exchanged it for the proper key, however now that one won't work either. I think the starter and or fuel pump shut down when I tried to start it with the wrong key. The dealer is out of state and my question is can I somehow bypass this lockout or what are my options. It's a 1999 Buick regal.
Thank you

Damien

Answer
Hi Damien:
If you have an original key, MAKE SURE of the resistor value.  Then you can go to our website and follow the instructions on how to bypass it.
They are broken down into step by step detailed instructions.
