Towing Issues: tow company staging, local police department, tow company

Question
A local tow company in FL is using a church parking lot to stage cars at night after they tow them off of various properties. The church officials have asked them not to do this, but they said that since it was commercial property and they didn't have the proper postings on the property, that they could leave cars there if they want. Can they do this? Is there any way to make them stop?

Answer
Well, what they are doing might not be illegal but its not ethical...

First of all, I have to say that by doing this, they have a responsibility for the vehicle from when they tow it, to the time it leaves their control...

Now, as to the commercial property issue, the tow company is correct.  If there are no signs posted then it can not be towed... BUT, that also means that if it was taken back by the owner while it was parked there, then how could the tow company prove it was towed away and left there... After all they would have to admit it was dropped there while they went back for more cars... (GREED factor here)

I bet they would stop if a car came up missing, LOL  would love to see them report it to the police as a stolen towed vehicle...

Now I would also be contacting the local police department as what they are doing is wrong and as such someone needs to know what rules and regulations are being broken...
Remember that bad press also works, after all it would not look good if they were caught towing cars for illegal parking, and then parking them illegally in a parking lot (think how that would look, double standards?)...
