Hello, my cousins car was towed recently when his engine was broke down. I dont know the details of the the Car was towed but my cousin told me the Car was in Park and Locked when they Towed it and that he was not present.
The mechanic who fixed his engine told him that the Car was Towed while in park and may have cause damage.
My question is. Does this happpen ? If the Car is in park and its Towed wrong can the Transmission be ruined and if so is the Tow Company Liable ?
Should by cousin get a Lawyer and take them to small claims court ?

BUT to answer your question, yes cars can be towed in park.
Does it damage vehicles transmissions, not normally but like anything it can happen.
Now depending on the vehicle, and the way it was picked up, and what kind of tow truck was used, the chances of damage range for unlikely to possible.
Another think I wish to mention is that a lot of mechanics really do not know much about towing, but can always seem to blame the tow company for things...
Lets talk more about this issue and if I can get what kind of vehicle the car is, how it was parked and if you know what kind of tow truck it was then I might be able to provide more information...
