Cadillac: 1997 SLS .Key-less start, Brake lights & PO741, brake light switch, converter clutch

QUESTION: Backround: Had a key less start installed and everything was fine.
2 months later, While driving, my brake lights went out. (a friend was following).
Took it back to the guy who installed the Key-Less start.
He said, "The brake wire was to short and he replaced it with a longer one"

6 miles later, the LED read out displayed,,
"Service Electrical System"

I called the remote installer and he said,,"there was a small arc/spark when putting in the new/longer wire"

I disconnected the negative post on the battery for 15-20 minutes and everything was fine....for a while.

Soon the LED display was back and shortly then came the Service engine light.

The code was PO741 and read,  Torque Converter solenoid.
This was done while both the LED read out AND the Service engine light were being displayed.
The codes were then re-set.

15 miles later,,,LED was back. Another 10 miles and the engine light was back also.

I had the "brain" of the key-less start removed and dissconected the battery again for 15-20 minutes.
All was good for 50 miles.

Next day,,Drove 10 miles,,,LED came back on.
Now I had it tested while ONLY the LED read was being displayed.
Results,,= Toprque Converter Clutch Switch May be malfunctioning or is Stuck Open/Closed.

How do I fix it and COULD this have been caused by replacing the Brake Lights wire?

ANSWER: Your brake light switch above the brake pedal is misadjusted and or faulty. I can provide pictures and directives on how to test the switch if you e-mail me at: onlineautohelp@msn.com

Personally, I would take it back to the guy and tell him to check the brake switch and to make SURE that he wired it into the correct wire at the brake switch. As he most likely wired it into the torque converter wire or the switch is misadjusted.

Or did it say: Toprque Converter Clutch SOLENOID may be malfunctioning or is Stuck Open/Closed ??.
