Honda: Honda Civic or Mazda 3, mazda engine, this category honda

Question
I am debating between these two cars. Price isn't the issue. I heard for reliability, Honda is better. Can you give me the pros and cons of buying either one?

Pros...
Honda:
Engine reliability
Cool shifter, even the automatic
Mazda:
New design
Mazda paint is shinier

Cons...
Honda:
"updated" suspension is not the best for handling
Interior noise (I'm not sure about the Mazda in this category; Honda is notoriously bad though)
Mazda:
Engine deal with Ford may mean you'll get a Ford engine (no fancy rotary)
New car with some bugs still in it


There may be more for each, this is just what I come up with.
