I have a 2001 Mazda protege es GT 2.0 litre engine.  I have about 90000km on it and want to know when to change the timing belt, and if it brakes before I change it will do other damage to the engine.  thanks jason teeter

Hi Jason and thanks for the question.  I do not know the interval for changing the timing belt in KM, but yes it will break and do great damage to the engine.  If you have an owners manual check there for maintenance schedules.  If not call your local Mazda dealer for this information.  Best of luck, Bud
