Mercedes: Letting my 83 380 SL breathe, cat converter, injector system

Question
I ran into a German woman, who was "all over" my car as I was coming home with it for the first time. After her inspection, she told me it was from "z mother plant" (heavy accent). She told me to strip all the restrictions off the car, and it will run for a life time. Any ideas? I used to drive muscle cars, and would love to give this car a boost. Any Links or Advice are GREATLY Appreciated!!!!

Depends on your location regarding smog testing and you concern for the pollution the vehicle will create without the smog controls. Everything from the intake MAP sensor through to the Cat converter are designed to raise the operating temperature of the exhaust system for better efficiency.
Also remember the vehicle computer is tuned to operate the injector system based on data received from the O2 and other sensors.
If you removes some or all the smog stuff, I an not sure you will see that mush improvement in performance.

There may be some aftermarket tuning kits you could purchase, but I do not know of any.
