Mitsubishi: 2001 Eclipse Overheated, blown head gasket, eclipse gt

Question
I have a 2001 Eclipse GT, V6, manual transmission.  I was driving my car on the highway; going about 70 mph, when it all of a sudden overheated. I then took a look at the engine but there was nothing leaking.  I had the car towed to my house, the next day, i found out that it had no coolant, so I filled it up and check to see if everything else was okay, I then tried turning on the car and it turned on fine.  A couple minutes later I tried to turn it own again and now it won't turn on at all.  It starts and sounds like it wants to turn on but it just doesn't.  I checked to see if there is a spark, and there is, I then checked to see if it was getting fuel and it is, it just won't turn on.  Can you help me figure out why it's turning on?

Answer
There's a good change you have a blown head gasket. If sever enough it won't build compression and won't fire. It your cooling system is not leaking, this is where I suspect the problem is. Check your engine oil condition. Let me know what you see. Aslo, take a look at the coolent and see if there is anything floating around in there. Normally I would have suspected the timing belt, but you mentioned you have spark. If the belt was broken, there would be no spark. Have you noticed the check engine light on while you were driving?
