How to Replace Fog Lights in an Impala

The Chevrolet Impala uses an 893 fog light bulb. The fog light assembly is removable, allowing easy access to the bulb. Replace the fog light bulbs in the car yourself for a fraction of what a repair center would charge. Replace fog light bulbs in pairs when they become inconsistent in bulb color and brightness.

Things You'll Need

  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Remove the mounting screw on the fog light assembly with a Phillips screwdriver. Slide the assembly forward out of the bumper.

  • Disconnect the electrical connector on the wiring harness. Squeeze the tab and pull straight back to unplug the connector.

  • Twist the bulb counterclockwise and pull it back out of the light assembly. Insert the new bulb and turn it clockwise until it stops.

  • Push the electrical connector back together. Listen for the connector to click when it engages. Replace the fog light assembly and secure it with the mounting screw. Tighten the screw with a Phillips screwdriver.

  • Repeat the process on the opposite side if needed.
