Car Alarms: How to remove, gmc yukon, alarmtek

I have a 1994 Gmc Yukon Gt that i have just recently bought and it has an aftermarket gm anti theft system that requires the key fob to start the vehicle.  It hasnt work right since i got it and its tied in to the blinkers.  Is there a way to remove the entire system and if so where could i find step by step instructions.  Thank you
