Chrysler Repair: 00 Concorde transmission problem?, 4 digit numbers, 2000 chrysler concorde

Question
Hi I had a question pertaining to my 2000 chrysler concorde. I recently had an oil change and the mechanic said my transmission pan was leaking. I watched for any fluid dropping off my car for about 3 weeks and I never saw a spot in my garage. Now while I'm driving, when I shift into a higher gear, it seems to hesitate more than normal. I checked the transmission fluid dipstick and it is at the correct level. If you have any information on what might be causing this jerking and hesitation while driving, please let me no I would appreciate it greatly.
Thanks again

Answer
Hi Dylan,
If there is something significantly different it may have been recognized as a 'fault' by the tranmission computer. If so, a code number for the fault will be stored in its memory. You may be able to readout the number using the ignition key:"on-off-on-off-on and leave on", doing that in 5 seconds or less elapsed time. Then watch the odometer window to see if the mileage changes to show some 4-digit numbers preceded by a P. Let me know what they are and we'll go from there.
If that doesn't show any numbers then you can get a free fault code readout using a diagnostic box that plugs into a socket under the dash by the steering wheel, by going to an Autozone parts store. Ask for the specific numbers. Any codes in the 0700's relate to the transmission.

PS:If the mechanic added any transfluid try look at your receipt to see if he used "ATF+4" type as that is very important. Anyother type can be damaging to the unit and you would want to flush it all out if it is now contaminated with something other than ATF+4.
