Ford Repair: replacing fluid hoses to rack and pinion, hose clamp, s reservoir

Question
Jeff:  I have a 1992 Mustang GT  5.0 and I need to replace one of the hoses that goes to the rack and pinion on the drivers side.  It seems to be leaking a little.  Nothing coming from up on the pump.  I put some Lucas stop leak that helped a little...but I think it might be leaking where the hose clamp is connected.

My question....how to I handle the P/S fluid.  It is going to pour out?  when I disconnect the hose at the bottom of the line?

Thanks
Jerry

Answer
Hi Jerry,
The p/s fluid will leak out when you disconnect the hose. just put a pan under it and let it all drain out. Put new hose on and fill p/s reservoir with new/clean fluids. Start engine and turn steering wheel left and right, then top off fluid.
Good Luck
Jeff
