Land Rover Repair: discovery 2 2001 spark to coil, discovery 2, cranks

Question
my 2001 cranks but does not start. Repair shop is asking 900.00 to replace the entire under dash fusebox, saying this is the problem. 2 years back my fan would not work and they wanted to replace the fusebox. I did some schematic research and jumped over the bad fuse with a fuse extension of the proper amp, and it has worked fine since, It cost 4.20. I am ill from the effects of cancer and do not wish to nor have the 900.00 to fix this, that they want.  Is there a way I can jump fuse 14, the one they say has the bad box connection, as I did for the fan. It would not need to be a perm fix, since regrettably I am not sure how much longer I have to enjoy driving my rover.  Thank you

Answer
Hi Ken,

I am so sorry to read about your cancer and I pray you are not in any pain and I hope you have much more time to drive your Disco.

Fuse 14 of passenger fusebox is for the ignition coils, so you are risking possible damage to the coils and a repair bill much higher than $900.

Send me an email and I'll try to find a local independent LR shop near you.  Include the target city that you want the Disco to be repaired in.

Best of luck,
JohnMc
