Land Rover Repair: Cruise control, vacuum lines, diso

I have a 98 diso series 1 and the cruise control doesnt work I now there is a lot of places for a problem. My light on the dash works so I assume the switch works I redid the vacume hoses and have no leaks that i know of.  Where is the next place to look in the least expensive fixes to most expensive? What order?  thank you

If the vacuum lines are all good, and the brake switch is good, your next step is to break out the electrical troubleshooting manual (available for download for a small fee from Land Rover's official site - www.landrovertechinfo.com)

Test the signals from the steering wheel pushbuttons and the power to the control unit.  If all those are good, you may need a controller.  Otherwise, you'll find some electrical bug.
