Pontiac Repair: winshield wipers, hideaway spot, pontiac transport

when I turn wiper off they stay up straight will not go in hideaway spot, but in works in all position, 1997 pontiac transport van what could be wrong?

Hi there:

Either the spark arm broke off the park crank that attaches the motor to the wiper linkage or the stop for the park arm is bent on the wiper motor mount. Chance are the park arm is broken more then anything else. pretty common issue with those vans. Uaullsy they break due to snow load on the winshiled or the wipers blades frozen to the windshiled but I see you not in snow country. good luck :-}
