Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Belt grabbing, pulley bolt, keyway

      My rider mower when you let the clutch out grabs badly,I fear that eventually it will strip the keyway....Could you please recommend the correct thing to put on the belt or pulley to smooth out the take off

What brand of mower do you have?
Does is grab in all gears, forward and reverse?
About how old is the mower?
Has the belt recently been replaced?
Have you visually inspected the belt?

Check the entire drive line.  Check the clutch ilder pulley...it could be binding.  Also check the engine pulley bolt and tranmission mounting bolts to ensure they are very tight.
