Questionsmall 1.5hp kawsaki engine on an MTD mower. after a few weeks of mowing no problem the mower stops running.
It starts without fail after a few pumps of the primer bulb and runs for 5-10 seconds and dies.
I have cleaned our the carb and fuel bulb / float. I have cleaned the spark plug (not the issue obviously). THe only way I can get it to run longer is to hold the primer bulb in or pump it every few seconds.
Do I have an air leak, or a bad float?

Check the primer bulb for a small hole or tear. The float may be sticking closed but more likely there is probably dirt, debris or gummed fuel in the carb. You will need to remove it, disassemble and clean all the small openings using a small wire if needed. Finally, blow it out with compressed air.
