Steering Column Repair: 96 buick regal gs anti theft system, jumper wire, buick regal

Question
Doug,I have a story to tell you and several questions for you about my car.It is a 96 regal w/3.8 v-6. It is actually a car i built as a race car last year.So last week we removed the dash and all power accs. like the radio, blower motor, switches, ect.A lot of the wires in the car have been cut as well, ones i thought i wont need. Any ways i had the car running (actually several time since i have removed the dash, and cutting wires, ect) and as it was running with the key on and in the cylinder lock i started to un-plug ele boxes on the wiring harness that i didn't know what it was i was un plugging!! So i can tell you this,i unplugged all of the following: the key cylder lock w/key in it, the anti theft control module and the anti theft relay, the door chime control module,3 other relays that were in the dash for the headlights, blower motor ect, and i also un plugged the left side of the ele. control module because those wires ran the like the fan relays abs relays ect and stuff like that that i don't need.I had the car running a few time w/ that side of the ECM unplugged. However after un plugging all of this when it was running last, i then shut it off and tried to restart it and the car would only make a click - click noise like the starter was bad or the battery was dead. Of course i had the batt tested and the starter tested, they checked out good! So i finally got a book and did some reading online and figured out that the anti theft system is what is making the car do this. At that time i learned also what i had unplugged as well. So i figured out my car will run by running a jumper wire on the anti theft relay(connecting the big purple wire and big yellow wire together)and then the car will turn over now and start and run for like 2 secs and then die. So now i learned that the anti theft cntr mod is not allowing the signal to the power con. mod. to let the fuel inj system work like it should. My fuel pump is  wired to a toggle switch ect, so i definitely know thats not a problem.Like i said none of this happened until i un plugged all of this crap while it was running.I checked the resistance at my key and at the end of the cyl loc harness with the key in it and they both have the same resistance (.885).I checked and wiggled the wires and tested them out and they always have tested out good that way as well.So whats next? Do i replace the anti theft control mod?? Can i reset the anti theft system?? Do i have to clear a code in the pcm??If i do have to replace the anti theft cont mod, then how do i determine the resistance value for that mod or get a key? Also do i have to replace the ECM as well? All i want is for my car to stay running so i can go racing!!! This has been a nightmare!!! All of your advise is greatly appreciated!!!Thanx for your time Buddy B.

Answer
Hi Buddy:

That's quite a tale.  All I can offer you is information on how to bypass the VATS system (Vehicle Anti Theft system) I don't know anything about the module or wiring in the dash so I'm not sure if the wires you cut (or left) are necessary.
Here is a link to the procedure for bypassing

Good luck
