Volvo Repair: 98 XC 70 - slow speed shutter/wheel movement, tire diameters, proper inflation

Question
Hi Mark. from Canada..read all your tips. First time XC70 owner (Maybe last) cannot diagnose front wheel "shutter" or movement at slow speed, while turning..feels like a  truck 4wd bounce-type movement of tires...have installed new Engine mounts, center mount, newer steering rack??...replaced drive shaft...to no avail..Even me "master" volvo mechanic has never been stumped like this.  HELP!!! Tks in advance

Answer
So sorry for the late reply. I had a surgery and will be out for a while. I know this sounds stupid, but check the tire diameters first and proper inflation.
Does it feel like the old four wheel drive transfer case judder on american vehicles? I think that's what you are describing? Try dropping the rear shaft and see if it changes. That will at least steer you towards transfer case. If not, front differential.
  Lastly, I would look towards binding/worn C.V. joints.HTH
