Your Honda Eu2000 generator features an overhead valve engine, and its carburetor requires regular maintenance due to the buildup of adulterants, dirt and debris. As these elements amass within the carburetor, they inhibit its ability to adequately blend air and fuel, thereby significantly reducing horsepower, and fuel and oil efficiency, as well as increasing the occurrence of stalling and sputtering. Cleaning the carburetor causes air to travel through it much more quickly, reducing static pressure and increasing dynamic pressure, which in turn dramatically improves your generator's fuel efficiency.
Disconnect the fuel line hose clamp using a flat-head screwdriver, and allow the fuel to drain into a drain pan.
Remove the air filter cover wing nut, remove the air filter, unscrew the air filter housing mounting screw with a flat-head screwdriver then pull the air filter housing out. The carburetor is located beneath the air filter housing. It has a round cylinder with a swiveling flap, which controls the carburetor intake.
Check the mobility of the flaps and springs by gently moving them back and forth with your fingers. Spray Formula 409 on a clean rag and wipe the carburetor down thoroughly to remove excess buildup.
Clean the inside of carburetor housing with a separate rag with gasoline on it. Wear a plastic face mask to safeguard against fumes.
Allow the cleaned carburetor to dry, then follow steps 1 and 2 in reverse to complete the procedure.
