How to Remove the Grille on a Scion

The Toyota Scion features an upper and lower front grille that is attached with plastic tabs and screws on the back of the grilles. There are several custom grilles for the Toyota Scion that you can choose from to create the look and design you want for your vehicle. You can customize your Scion to fit your lifestyle and needs. You can remove the upper and lower grilles of your Toyota in just a few minutes, saving you time and money.

Things You'll Need

  • Phillips head screwdriver
  • Flat head screwdriver

Removing the Upper Grille

  • Lift the vehicle hood and locate the Phillips head screws around the perimeter of the Toyota Scion's upper grille inside the engine compartment. Remove all the screws that secure the upper grille to the vehicle's frame with a Phillips head screwdriver.

  • Locate the tabs on the inside of the engine compartment that hold the upper grille in place. Detach the tabs by unfastening the tabs from the grille with a flat head screwdriver.

  • Slide the upper grille through the front of the vehicle frame and remove it from the engine compartment.

Removing the Lower Grille

  • Disconnect the electrical wire connectors from the back of the fog lights by hand.

  • Locate the tabs on the back of the lower grille's and unfasten the tabs by sliding them over with a flat head screwdriver.

  • Remove the Toyota Scion's lower grille from the front of the vehicle.
