How to Change the Brake Lights in a 2007 Chrysler Sebring

Maintaining your 2007 Chrysler Sebring is part of being a responsible car owner. When a brake light burns out, you should replace it as soon as you notice the failure. The brake lights on your Sebring are the only system you have to alert drivers behind you when you have to stop or slow down. The 2007 Sebring uses a 3057 combination bulb for the taillight and brake light. Buy the bulb from an auto parts store or Chrysler dealership.

Things You'll Need

  • 3057 combination bulb
  • Open the trunk of your Sebring. Pull the trunk liner back away from the rear of the taillight assembly. Unscrew the two wing nuts securing the taillight assembly by hand and set them aside.

  • Pull the taillight assembly out of the car. Turn the bulb counterclockwise and pull it out of the light assembly. Pull the bulb out of the socket and discard it.

  • Push the new bulb into the socket until it is secure. Insert the bulb into the light assembly of your 2007 Chrysler Sebring and turn it clockwise to secure it.

  • Replace the taillight assembly into the mounting area. Secure the assembly with the two wing nuts and tighten them by hand. Replace the trunk liner.

  • Repeat the process on the opposite light if required. Close the trunk and test the lights for proper function.
