Motorcycle Repair: 1983 Honda CX 650 Custom that is hard to start, honda cx 650, valve clearance

Question
I have replaced the stator in my bike and now it is hard to start and runs very rough. After further investigating it turns out the right side exhaust pipe is not getting hot when it is running. I checked and both cylinders are getting fire. What do you think?

Answer
Bryan,

-check the compression and see if both cylinders
are near the same PSI. If not, check the valve clearance.
-use some new or good spark plugs.
-try some carb cleaner or wd40 in the carb intake
and see if the cylinder fires.
-if it fires, you need to check the fuel petcock valve
and fuel flow to the carb and possibly clean the carb
jets and float needle valve.
If compression, fuel and spark are okay it should run.
