Saab Repair: Ignition..01 9-3 with 79 k, key cylinder, light oil

Question
It seems that my car is under the impression that there is
always a key in it at the first position (even before idle).
The radio will always stay on if i don't manually turn it
off and there is always a chime sound when ever someone
opens the a door, even when the key isn't in the ignition.
At the same time my screen is saying "rear light failure"
for only god knows what reason. I'm currently disconnecting
the battery when I'm done driving so it doesn't drain.

I have a feeling I'm going to have to replace the ignition
starter or something like that which in the case of Saabs is
very $$. is there anything I can try and do myself?
thanks in advance!

Answer
Lube the ignition cylinder with some light oil. What is happening is that the key cylinder does not pop up, hence the car still thinks the key is in it. When it sticks you can usually put the key back in and turn it on/off until it pops up properly, Rear light failure means there is a rear light failure. Pretty simple, replace the bulb
