Mazda: 1997 Miata audio system, adel iowa, winter storage

Question
QUESTION: After reinstalling battery from winter storage the radio/cd system is not enabled.  The system has antitheft code systme but nothing shows on the display.  CD power is there but no play.  I recall entering keystrokes in the past to make things work but have failed to find that information that I got from a message board some time ago.  Is there a trick to this?

I certainly appreciate your time.  I sure do love my Miata.
Best regards,

ANSWER: It depends on which system you have as to what procedure is required.  You'll have to send a picture of the unit so I can determine which model radio you have.  service@miatashop.com.

QUESTION: Can you accept a picture formated within a Microsoft Word file?

ANSWER: I'm sure I can, just email it to the shop.  service@miatashop.com

If you don't know your antitheft user code, follow the same procedure three times entering any 4-digit code each time. Once any 4-digit code is entered three times, "err" flashes in the radio's display.  The display should indicate "err", the radio is now set to accept the following reset procedure.

Press Scan
Press AM/FM
Press Prog/Auto M.
Press FForward
This should give you the "- - - -"
Enter 4 9 8 9
Press Prog/Auto M. first, then press Scan (Hold both buttons down at the same time and make sure to follow this order.

The display should now read "Good" The radio should now work again.  A security code is not required for it to be functional.

QUESTION: in order to enter this number is the procedure
press 1 five times, 2 ten times, 3 nine times, 4 ten times??

Answer
Remove battery power from it for at least 10 seconds. When battery power is restored with no user code set, the radio's operation is immediately restored. If a code is set "code" flashes in the radio's display.

I'm not familiar with what you just asked.  You should end up with "code", "err" or "good" on the display.  If not you may possibly have a blown fuse either in the cars panel or the internal radio fuse that "some" have.  Internal fuses are soldered in place.  These are blown if polarity is reversed or a speaker grounds out.
