Lexus Repair: timing belt, camshaft position sensor, crankshaft pulley

Question
Hi Brandon, I am trying to install a new timing belt on a 94 camry V6 1MZ-FE Engine. Following the manual and aligning up all of the timing marks on the crankshaft pulley and camshaft pulley, then turning the crank  twice, the marks on the camshaft pulleys lined up with the timing marks on the rear timing belt cover but the marks on the timing belt were way off . Re-did it 6 times and still can't get them to line up exactly. Do they need to be exact. Please help if you can. thanks

Answer
If *both* cam sprockets align with the marks on the cover housings, along with the engine being @ tdc of the intake stroke. It's fine.

If you get one that is not aligned after several rotations. It will evnetually snap the belt. (Along with that bank of cylinders will have ignition, and fuel timing events being off because the camshaft position sensor will be out of time.)
