I have a '94 Nissan Primera. Both brake lights are not coming on. It is not the bulbs or fuse. Any ideas what the problem could be and is it easily remedied. Thankyou.
Answer -
Trevor,

Check the brake light switch on the brake pedal.

Thank's for the quick response. I did as you suggested and removed and cleaned the brake light switch. However, the brake lights still do not work. Any other suggestions or should I leave it in to an auto spark? Thankyou.

Trevor,

The other option, if the brake light switch is working properly is the headlight switch on the steering column.

Yes, the headlight switch is on the left hand side of the steering column. Do you suspect the fault lies here?

Answer
Trevor,

Did you bridge the switch with a length of wire?  This way you know for sure that the switch is good.  If the brake lights still do not come on it would be the master switch on the column as it is the central location for most of the lights.
