Intervals for 2007 Toyota RAV4 Spark Plug Replacement

The 2007 Toyota RAV4 came standard with a 166-horsepower, 2.4-liter engine, or the optional 3.5-liter V-6 that produced 269 horsepower. Over time, the repetitive electrical arcing and the internal combustion process wears out the spark plugs and can cause poor fuel economy or poor performance. To help keep these engines in their peak form, Toyota recommended changing the spark plugs at set intervals.

Spark Plug Replacement Interval

  • The 2007 Toyota RAV4 requires spark plug replacement every 120,000 miles or 144 months, whichever comes first. On models with a four-cylinder engine, you must use Denso SK20R11, NGK IFR6A11 or equivalent spark plugs. On V-6 models, you must use Denso FK20HR11 plugs -- no substitutions. Additionally, the spark plug gap requirement on both engines is 0.043 inches and the plugs for the V-6 do not permit plug gap adjustments. Check the gaps and return them, if necessary.
